Domaine Alain Burguet Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes 2009 is a full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Gevrey-Chambertin commune of the Côte de Nuits. Based in Gevrey Chambertin, Alain Burguet is a family-owned Domaine currently run by brothers Jean Luc and Eric. Covering approximately 9.5 hectares of vineyard, the estate has a strong focus on sustainable viticulture with biodynamic practices. The grapes are 100% destemmed and the use of new oak is very limited. This cuvée is produced from some of Alain Burguet`s oldest (70+-years-old) Pinot Noir vines within Premier Cru sections of Gevrey. "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes is intense, rich and very long on the palate. Intense, spiced notes meld into dark red berries in this fleshy, totally seductive version of Mes Favorites. Mineral notes appear later, giving the wine its energy. This is a fabulous Favorites."
